Meet Dr. Elizabeth Leung, BSc, MOptom, OD

 

Dr. Elizabeth Leung brings a unique global perspective and a wealth of specialized training back to her hometown of Vancouver. She is dedicated to providing meticulous, individualized eye care for patients of all ages, combining her comprehensive training with a genuinely patient-first approach.

 

A Global Education and Clinical Expertise

 

Dr. Leung is highly credentialed, having pursued a diverse and rigorous academic path:

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) with Dean's Honours from the University of Waterloo.

  • Master of Optometry (MOptom) obtained abroad in England in 2019, following six years of living and practicing as an optometrist in the United Kingdom.

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Population Health Sciences from Simon Fraser University, grounding her practice in a broad understanding of community health.

Her clinical experience is equally wide-ranging. She gained invaluable experience managing complex ocular diseases and emergency cases during rotations at an ophthalmology clinic in Surrey and a full-scope community practice in rural Saskatchewan.

 

Clinical Focus: Comprehensive & Individualized Care

 

Dr. Leung specializes in primary eye care, with a strong interest in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease and dry eye. She prides herself on taking the time to understand each patient's unique needs, ensuring every visit results in clear vision and a sustainable eye health plan.

Dr. Leung is thrilled to join the Perspective Optometry team and looks forward to serving the Vancouver community she calls home.

 

Outside the Clinic

 

When she’s not focused on eye health, Dr. Leung loves embracing the beautiful Pacific Northwest lifestyle. She enjoys spending her free time exploring Vancouver's mountains and beaches, often accompanied by her two dogs. She also loves unwinding through creative pursuits like reading and painting.
